Well, the annual Sparity drawing marathon is complete. Granted, I ended up not being able to complete yesterday's on time due to issues, but I got it and today's done with time to spare before the official end.
In other news, I'm now a parent. You might be able to tell when this momentous occasion occurred by my JanSparity drawing content. I thought doing a drawing a day was tough while I was in the middle of a war game in Korea last year, but doing it while caring for a newborn definitely tops that. I have not slept through the night for most of the month, and free time is no longer a guarantee due to the whims of My Little Tyrant. So cute, though.
I'll also be trying to work on some personal projects as the year goes forward, which combined with the mini-me may cause posts to become less frequent, but hopefully I'll be able to publish some original stuff that will make it worth it. I'll try to keep everyone updated, though.

I'm back again
Well, I've been in an accelerated program the past four months or so for certification as a behavioral health tech. It was a bit tough, especially as one of our classmates with whom I was fairly close lost his life a month ago, so I've been dealing with that. However, I have returned home and I'm spending a bit of time with the family before they go to Taiwan for the rest of the year. I'll be updating Horror U again in the next 2 weeks as I've managed to work a bit on it even during the packed schedule I've had. I'll be posting the cover image as a teaser today. Hope everyone enjoys.
Transitions
So I'm at a transitional point in my career as I go from a decade of active duty in the military to doing part time in the National Guard for awhile. Thankfully, I do have a full time job lined up to start about a week after my term of service ends, and it's Federal so I should have some decent enough benefits to keep me going. Not having to dedicate so much time to the military - which honestly demands so much of your free time even outside of duty hours - and being able to stay home due to COVID-19 while still getting paid the last few months of my service has allowed me to start considering looking again at my dreams of making comics. I've already finished almost half of the first issue of Horror U, the cover of which I've posted here, and I'm considering ways to publish it. As much as I hate the side hustle culture our terrible economy has forced all of us into, I have been considering ways this might actually make me a little money, as a way of justifying all the free time it
I have returned once more
Welp, that was a fun time. I am now back from the horrible dust bowl that is NTC, Fort Irwin. Had my birthday out in the sandbox, where I have no cell phone or internet access in general, so I missed all the birthday wishes. Still thanks to these folks for posting such:

Anyway, now that I'm back, I plan on doing more art, naturally. I'll still be busy, naturally, especially now the NCOIC of my section and even the Sergeant Major are wanting to promote
Month-long absence
Well, it looks like after a couple months back home, I'm going to be leaving again. This time it will be for a month-long training out in the desert where all nongovernment electronic devices will be confiscated and I'll work 12-16 hour days without any days off. At least I'll be back a couple months before my first child is due, because I would be bereft if I were not able to be present for the delivery. Anyway, obviously I won't be able to have any contact with anyone for the next month and any work I'm doing has to be put on hold. It's gonna be quite the experience wading through all the new artwork when I get back, too...
